MEME Sounds warmly welcomes Jenny Lovlein (Minneapolis, US).
Born into a deeply religious Cuban/Norwegian family, Jenny Lovlein started singing in church at 4 years old. She was introduced to the world of house music in 1999 when her brother Erik Love returned to Minneapolis from two years as a DJ in Prague. Singing at parties and freestyling while her brother played sparked a passion for singing house music. Bringing a powerful, nuanced and soulful sound, she found her musical niche and began collaborating with local music producers.
A year or two later Jenny began performing regularly at the Minneapolis club, Soundbar. Since then she held the stage at legendary First Avenue for dance nights including “Black” and “Bassgasm”. More recently Jenny sang at the VimLab 10th Anniversary boat party and at Honey for “House Proud” — a night devoted entirely to House music hosted by producer/DJ Bryan Gerrard (Celebrity Records) and Nicole Johnson. In 2013 Jenny teamed up with Dory Kahale of Bass United Recordings and began recording music for her first single “Don’t Call” released in September 2013.
